Dr. Persky Wins Prestigious Fellowship

Dr. Bruce Persky, co-owner of San Carlos Veterinary Hospital (SCVH), has been awarded a Donald G. Low - California Veterinary Medical Association Practitioner Fellowship at the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Persky, who graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1972, was one of only twelve practitioners to receive this prestigious award in the 2004-2005 program. A copy of the press release regarding Dr. Persky's fellowship is attached.

The Donald G. Low Fellowships, which are a joint activity between the California Veterinary Medical Association and the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, were created to give practitioners the opportunity to improve their knowledge in an area of professional interest. Dr. Persky's fellowship will allow him to spend 20 days studying the latest developments in small animal ultrasound with the faculty, residents and students at the UC Davis facility. However, as noted by Donald J. Klingborg, associate dean for Public Programs at the School of Veterinary Medicine, these fellowships are a two-way street. Not only do the practitioners learn the latest trends and treatments in their area of interest, the faculty learn about the issues and approaches being used by veterinarians today and the students get valuable insight into what awaits them in private practice.

Way to go, Bruce!
